Verizon Wireless Names Jonathan LeCompte President of Georgia/Alabama Region




ALPHARETTA, Ga., Nov. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ – Verizon Wireless, which operates the nation’s largest 4G LTE network and largest, most reliable 3G network, announced today that Jonathan LeCompte has been named president of its Georgia/Alabama Region. He replaces Jeff Mango, who has been named Vice President of Customer and business Intelligence at Verizon Communications and will now be based in Basking Ridge, NJ. LeCompte – who was most recently the director of Retail Sales for the company’s Northern California/Nevada/Hawaii Region – will oversee sales, customer service operations and marketing for both Georgia and Alabama. He will report to South Area president Roger Tang.

“Jonathan has a long history with Verizon Wireless and brings a wealth of strategic sales management and operational experience to his new role,” said Tang. “Given his previous successes, we’re confident he will lead the Georgia/Alabama Region to continued growth and success.”

With nearly 20 years of telecommunications experience with Verizon Wireless and its legacy companies, LeCompte has held sales leadership positions across the company’s Retail, Telesales and Indirect distribution channels.  He has also served as acting president for both the Northern California/Nevada/Hawaii Region and the Southern California Region, where he was responsible for delivering improved growth in market share, revenue, profitability and customer experience. LeCompte is a three-time Verizon Wireless President’s Cabinet award honoree.

LeCompte holds a Bachelor’s Degree in business Administration from Seattle University‘s Albers School of business and Economics. He and his family are relocating from the San Francisco Bay Area to Alpharetta, GA, where LeCompte will be based.
