Verizon to Introduce HTC Fireball With Slide-Out Keyboard?

HTC might have a new high-end smartphone in the works specifically for Verizon, which recently appeared in the company’s inventory system.

This new device called the HTC Fireball would be the first smartphone to be offered by Verizon since the Rezound.

There is also the possibility of the Fireball coming with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed.

Verizon currently offers the most popular Android device of the year with the Galaxy Nexus. With hot smartphones such as the Nexus and Motorola Droid Razr in its inventory, the carrier holds a high ranking in the Android universe.

The Galaxy Nexus launched on Verizon on Dec. 15 and has received rave reviews. But the handset did not get released without its fair share of bugs and other problems. Customers recently experienced problems with the smartphones antenna. However, the problem is not with the phone’s signal, but rather the indicator that tells the user how good their service is in that area, according to Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney.

Verizon is currently working to resolve this issue in order to deliver the optimum experience to Galaxy Nexus owners.

Tech site, AnandTech recently tested the Galaxy Nexus against other Android devices and found that its signal was no weaker than any of them. This proves Verizon’s statement to be accurate. Raney also stated that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has no performance issues and the update will adjust the signal strength indicator to more closely match other Verizon Wireless devices.
