Verizon technician accused of sexual battery in customer’s home




Tony betancourtA Verizon technician has been arrested on suspicion of sexual battery of a 76-year-old customer in Thousand Oaks.

The customer reported that Tony Betancourt, 56, went to her home Nov. 2 to do some work and afterward committed sexual battery on her, according to a report from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, which provides police services to Thousand Oaks.

Betancourt was arrested this week, the department said.

Anyone with more information in the case is asked to call detectives at (805) 494-8229.
