Verizon offers 16GB version of Droid Razr for $200




Computerworld - While every feature in smartphones seems to be going toward bigger and faster, Verizon Wireless announced Tuesday a 16GB version of its Droid Razr for $199.99, in addition to the existing 32GB version for $299.99.

Both models are made by Motorola and require two-year Verizon service contracts. Ironically, Motorola last week at CES said it would be offering fewer phone models in 2012, indicating the newer, leaner policy hasn’t taken effect for the Droid Razr at least.

The Droid Razr at 16GB is identical to its larger cousin, with a 1.2GHz processor and capability over 4G LTE. They run the Android 2.3.5 mobile operating system, upgradeable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Both have a 4.3-in. touchscreen.

Both also come with batteries that are average for LTE smartphones, each at 1780 mAh. While Motorola said it will soon have the Droid Razr Maxx on Verizon’s 4G LTE with a 3300 mAh battery, but pricing has not been set for the Maxx.
