Verizon Deals With Second Outage This Month

Verizon is working to return 4G service to users nationwide, after customers found themselves without a mobile data connection for the second time this month.

“Verizon Wireless 4G LTE service is returning to normal this morning after company engineers worked to resolve an issue with the 4G network during the early morning hours today. Throughout this time, 4G LTE customers were able to make voice calls and send and receive text messages. The 3G data network operated normally,” the company said in an e-mailed statement.

Users in the San Francisco area began reporting network problems late last night, according to GottaBMobile.com, and Verizon Wireless customers across the country woke up to data issues ranging from spotty or downgraded connections to a complete lack of data connectivity.

Wednesday morning customers flooded Verizon’s official Twitter support handle, @VZWSupport , with reports indicating 3G as well as 4G service may have been affected.

Verizon did not reveal the cause of the disruption or say when service would be fully restored.

A December 7 outage affected wireless users nationwide. Another widespread data outage was reported in April.
