Verizon Customers Win 4G Smartphone

Verizon Wireless launched its 4G network Thursday in Rapid City
and surrounding areas.

Around 8:30 Thursday morning, a line started to form in front of
the brand new Verizon Wireless store on Omaha Street.

At 9:00, the doors opened and people fled toward the chocolate.

Everyone opened their candy bars in silence until a scream broke
out.

And they both won brand new Droid Bionics, a new 4G phone by
Verizon.

Miriam Iams, the first golden ticket winner, says, “I am feeling
wonderful, am going to give the phone to my boyfriend, because he
won me one off of the internet, and I already have it. So I’m
going to give it back to him to return the favor.”

Will Power, the second golden ticket winner, says, “I love this
golden ticket. I’m gonna keep this golden ticket. I came and got
a green tea, actually. They kept me outside. I was the one person
to come in at the second round of people, and I’m like, oh gosh.
I don’t even know, and I open it up and there it is. I’m gonna
have fun with my phone!”

Gret Roth, the third golden ticket winner, says, “I was coming in
to see the new operation, and, of course, take my chances at
winning, but ultimately, this was the phone I was gonna buy.”

Jeremy Robinson, the fourth golden ticket winner, says, “I didn’t
think I was going to win. My wife told me to come down here, so
I’m probably going to give it to her.”

Most people said besides waiting in the cold, the anticipation
and game was a fun way to spend their morning.

Clint Courtney, manager at the 725 Omaha Verizon, says, “Brings a
little fun to it and gives the customer a time to get excited.”

The 100 chocolate bars were given out in less than an hour’s
time.
