South rises again with Verizon in-store trade-in program




Verizon Wireless is kicking off the holiday season, but only in the southern region of the U. S. The new in-store trade-in program lets prospective customers bring a used phone into any Verizon store or kiosk and get instant credit for a new phone with service.

The program in in effect in NC, SC, TN, GA, AL, FL, MS, AR, OK, TX, and LA, and works as follows:

  • Customer brings used phone on any carrier into Verizon store
  • Evaluation of the phone is conducted by Verizon rep
  • Up to $300 (gift card) is offered for trading in the used phone for any purchase or upgrade

“The new In Store Trade-In Program values your existing device for use toward the purchase of a new device,” said Keith Gladhill, director – retail sales Houston, Verizon Wireless. “With this program, customers can trade in their used device and receive a trade-in gift card instantly, to purchase a new smartphone, tablet or accessories. There is no waiting or sending in your old device. It is simple, secure and instant.”

Those trading in their old phone can donate their no-longer-used cell phones to the long-running HopeLine® program, which collects devices and accessories to benefit victims of domestic violence.
