As Verizon asks workers to pay more for health care, CEO pay seems unfair – The Star-Ledger

I retired as a district manager, with 35 years of service, from Verizon, when it was known as Bell Telephone. I have always felt very highly about the company and its employees.

Now, full page ads indicate that Verizon wants its employees to pay more toward their health care plans. Their ads always feature the slogan, “We think that’s fair.”

What concerns me is that their CEO, Ivan Seidenberg, has an annual compensation of $18.1 million a year. That means he may earn more in a single day than his employees might receive in a year.

Tell me Verizon, do you still think that’s “fair”?
